Looking for something fun to do in Jacksonville this weekend?
Well, Northeast Florida has some good things happening October 23–25!
We’ve got Italian food, beautiful artwork, live music, local markets, and a few easy day trips.
Whether you’re looking for something relaxing or a little adventure, here are some of my favorites!
🇮🇹 A Little Taste of Italy in Mandarin
This one sounds like fun!
Festa Italiana returns Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM–6 PM at the Italian American Club of Jacksonville.
Enjoy authentic Italian food, desserts, entertainment, and a celebration of Italian culture.
And the best part? Admission is free!
The club is also celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
I don’t know about you, but Italian food and a little live entertainment sound like a pretty good Saturday afternoon to me!
🌺 Plants, Crafts, and a Little Shopping
Another fun Mandarin event is the Mandarin Garden Club’s annual Craft Fair and Plant Sale.
Stop by Saturday from 9 AM–4 PM to browse handmade crafts, plants, baked goods, and local vendors.
It’s a nice way to spend a morning, especially if you enjoy gardening or finding something a little different for your home.
🎨 Something Beautiful at the Cummer
If you enjoy art, antiques, or beautiful home design, you might want to visit the Cummer Museum this weekend.
The museum is celebrating the opening of Tiffany or Ti-Phony? A Story of Desire.
Explore intricate Tiffany glass lamps, beautiful colors, and the craftsmanship behind these decorative works of art.
Opening-weekend activities are scheduled Saturday and Sunday.
And while you’re there, take a little time to enjoy the museum’s beautiful riverfront gardens.
🎶 An Evening of Music in the Gardens
Looking for a date-night idea?
The Cummer Museum is also hosting a Fall Garden Concert Saturday evening featuring Billie Monarch and her band.
Enjoy live music beneath the oak trees overlooking the St. Johns River.
Bring a folding chair or blanket and make an evening of it.
Tickets are $45.
🎷 Blues, Gospel, and Southern Cooking in St. Augustine
Here’s a fun little road trip!
The St. Benedict the Moor Blues Festival takes place Friday through Sunday in historic Lincolnville.
Enjoy live blues and gospel music, along with some good Southern cooking.
Friday and Saturday feature evening performances, while Sunday morning includes gospel music and brunch.
Admission is $10 per day, with food available for purchase.
Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music!
🥬 Markets, Fresh Air, and a Little Shopping
Sometimes the simplest outings are the best.
Saturday brings Riverside Arts Market from 10 AM–3 PM, with local artists, farmers, handmade goods, and food vendors.
Or head to Jacksonville Beach for the Beaches Green Market from 10 AM–2 PM.
There’s even a free yoga class at 9:30 AM if you’d like to start your morning with a little movement.
🌴 Take a Little Drive to Amelia Island
If you’re looking for a change of scenery, head north to Fernandina Beach.
Saturday brings both the farmers market and arts market downtown from 9 AM–1 PM.
You could browse the markets, grab lunch, and spend a little time exploring historic Centre Street.
For food lovers, the annual Taste of Amelia culinary event is also happening Saturday.
🌿 Enjoy the Outdoors
Not every weekend outing needs a special event!
The Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens offers beautiful scenery, wooded trails, and peaceful lake views.
It’s a wonderful place to slow down, enjoy nature, and get a little fresh air.
Enjoy Your Weekend!
One of the things I love about living in Jacksonville is having so many choices.
We can enjoy the beach, explore a new neighborhood, visit a local market, listen to live music, or take a short drive and discover something different.
And that’s part of what makes life after 55 in Northeast Florida so much fun!
So grab a friend, make some plans, and enjoy your weekend.
Which activity would you choose?
Whether you are right-sizing, relocating, retiring, or simply looking for more ways to enjoy life after 55, Jacksonville has plenty to offer.
