Another weekend is almost here, and Northeast Florida has plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy it!
Whether you’re looking for something active, a relaxing afternoon, or a little adventure with friends, I’ve found several fun options.
And this week, there’s a little something for everyone!
Explore Jacksonville’s Historic Homes
If you love looking at houses as much as I do, you’ll want to check out the Arlington Mod & More Home Tour.
This Saturday and Sunday, you can explore historic and mid-century modern homes throughout Arlington.
One of the highlights is a completely circular home known as Geodesica!
The tour also includes classic cars and a chance to learn more about Jacksonville’s architectural history.
Yoga, Shopping, and River Views
Looking for a fun way to start Saturday?
Head to Riverside Arts Market for Jax Yoga Fest.
Local instructors will offer free classes and demonstrations throughout the day, including meditation, breathwork, and yoga for different experience levels.
Afterward, browse the market, grab something to eat, and enjoy the St. Johns River.
Saturday Night Jazz
Saturday Sounds returns to Friendship Fountain from 6–9 PM.
This week features smooth jazz!
Grab dinner downtown, enjoy the music, and take in those beautiful riverfront views.
And the best part? Admission is free!
A Relaxing Sunday at the Cummer
If you’re looking for something peaceful, the Cummer Museum is hosting Tai Chi and Sound Bath in its gardens Sunday morning.
It’s an opportunity to enjoy gentle movement, meditation, and a little time surrounded by nature.
You can also explore the museum and gardens afterward.
Free Music on Sunday
Here’s another reason to get out Sunday afternoon.
The Beaches Fine Arts Series is presenting the Phaeton Piano Trio at 4 PM in Jacksonville Beach.
Or enjoy the First Coast Wind Symphony at Jacksonville University beginning at 3 PM.
Both concerts offer free admission.
Take a Little Road Trip
Want to get out of Jacksonville for the day?
Head south to Elkton for Cracker Day, featuring Florida cowboy history, horses, vendors, and food.
Or head north to Amelia Island for the final weekend of the Amelia Island Jazz Festival.
You could also spend Saturday morning browsing the farmers and arts markets in historic Fernandina Beach.
Add lunch and a little wandering around downtown, and you’ve got yourself a pretty good day!
Enjoy Your Weekend!
One of my favorite things about living in Northeast Florida is having so many opportunities to enjoy life right here at home.
Whether it’s exploring a new neighborhood, enjoying live music, or spending time outdoors, there’s always something happening.
So grab a friend, make some plans, and enjoy your weekend!
Whether you are right-sizing, relocating, retiring, or simply looking for more ways to enjoy life after 55, Jacksonville has plenty to offer.
